What questions can you ask a doctor about HIV and STI testing?

You can ask your doctor anything! What you ask is totally up to you and what you want to know. Here are a few questions you may want to ask: 

• What does the test involve?  

• How long will it take to get the results?  

• How will I get my results?  

• What happens if I’m positive?  

• What treatments are available to me? 

• Will treatment affect other medication I’m on?  

• Am I doing the right things to protect myself from getting STIs? 

• What other regular check-ups should I have? 

Remember, it’s important you understand what is being said so don’t be afraid to ask more questions on anything you want to know more about!
