First-hand: campaigning for community health worker rights

Margaret Odera, community health worker, from Nairobi, Kenya. 70% of community health workers are women, and this is a corporate injustice to make unpaid women, especially in Africa. Community health workers are not paid. They're not professionalised, they're not institutionalised. Community health workers are not paid. They're not professionalised, they're not institutionalised. So I am advocating for women as community health workers. Because if 70% could have been men, it could have been something different. But because 70% are women, we are being left out and I encourage countries, I encourage leaders, the WHO, to put pressure to countries so that community health workers will be paid, professionalised and institutionalised.
